harrison ford injury star warsThe Force is most definitely not with Harrison Ford.

The 71-year-old actor was injured on the London set of J.J. Abrams's "Star Wars: Episode VII" on Thursday, when he collided with the door of the Millennium Falcon, his iconic spacecraft from the original "Star Wars" trilogy. Ford was rushed to the hospital, told that he broke his ankle and today the Hollywood Reporter notes that the star will be out of commission for the next eight weeks of filming. That's a lot of time off for one of the biggest draws of the new movie (filming will continue without Ford, who will jump back into it as soon as he's able).

"Star Wars: Episode VII" is still expected to make its December 18th, 2015, release date. And considering the staggering amount of visual effects trickery involved in the production of these movies, a little after-the-fact-Ford is probably easily accomplishable.

Unless you've been residing in the dark recesses of space, you know that "Star Wars: Episode VII" reunites the original stars of the series (Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher) with a cast of brand new Jedis, Sith Lords, and intergalactic rogues (among them: John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac). Hopefully Ford feels better really soon, and not just because British hospital food is even worse than regular British food.
