Ryan Phillippe's Ex-Girlfriend Sues Actor For Drunken Assault: Report

$

A Night Out To Benefit The Innocence ProjectRyan Phillippe's ex-girlfriend Elsie Hewitt has filed a lawsuit against the "Shooter" actor allegedly kicking, punching and throwing her down the stairs.

The suit, first reported by TMZ, alleged that Phillippe often abused drugs and combined them with "excessive alcohol consumption and often exhibited symptoms attendant of poly drug and alcohol abuse, including mood swings and bouts of anger."

Sources close to Phillippe said that Hewitt instigated the altercation.

"Elsie showed up to Ryan's house uninvited and under the influence a few days after he had broken up with her," the source told People. "She physically attacked Ryan, caused a scene and refused to leave his home. As she was removed from the premises, she claims she fell and injured herself."

Hewitt, a model, is asking for no less than $1 million, though her lawyer insists the money would go to a domestic violence chairty.

'Just Getting Started' Trailer Teams Up Morgan Freeman, Tommy Lee Jones For Hijinks

Morgan Freeman is the life of the party in the first trailer for "Just Getting Started" — until Tommy Lee Jones shows up.

The movie stars Freeman as the fun-loving manager of a luxury resort who is king of the castle. Then, Jones' charming ex-military man arrives, threatening his place atop the totem pole. They battle for the ladies' attention, over poker, across the ping pong table, and at golf.

But the two soon need to team up after Freeman reveals he once testified against the mob and is in witness protection!

The movie looks to deploy the same kind of gentle, wink-wink humor of director Ron Shelton's other movies, like "Bull Durham" and "Tin Cup." It's great to see Jones and Freeman square off. Plus, the movie is a who's who of Hollywood veterans, including Rene Russo, Joe Pantoliano, Jane Seymour, and the late Glenne Headly.

"Just Getting Started" opens in theaters December 8.

This Twitter Account Shares the Best (Fake) Titular Lines From Your Favorite Movies

A portrait of Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in a scene from the movie Gone with the WindGimmicky Twitter accounts can be a hit or miss operation, quickly losing steam -- and relevance -- after their moment in the sun has faded. (Emo Kylo Ren, we hardly knew ye.) But the possibilities seem truly endless for the latest film parody account to hit the web, and we have a feeling we'll be laughing at the tweets from Titular Lines (a.k.a. @saythetitle) for a long time.

The account seems pretty self-explanatory on the surface, featuring screen shots and captions from a host of classic and modern movies, purportedly of the moment when the title of the flick is uttered by the characters. But the twist is that all of the lines are made up, and all of them are absolutely ridiculous -- and hilarious.

Titular Lines is still a pretty new account (it's only tweeted 17 times as of this writing), but we're already obsessed. And with thousands of movies out there in the ether, it's sure to have source material for years to come. We can't wait to see what other silliness it comes up with -- and the inevitable day when someone famous is tricked into thinking these lines are the real deal.

Hayden Christensen & Rachel Bilson Split After Nearly 10 Years Together: Report

Glacier Films Launch Party Hosted By Hayden C And Michael Saylor Aboard The Yacht Harle - The 66th Annual Cannes Film FestivalRachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen "are completely, officially done" after dating for nearly 10 years and welcoming a daughter in 2014.

A source told Us Weekly they had been on the outs for a couple of months and now it's officially over. She's living full-time back in Los Angeles while he's in Toronto.

They met while making the 2008 film "Jumper" and got engaged toward the end of that year. They called off the engagement by August 2010 but reconciled a few months after that. They welcomed daughter Briar Rose Christensen on Oct. 29, 2014.

Before Christensen, Bilson dated her "The O.C." co-star Adam Brody for three years. Bilson most recently played the recurring role of Alyssa Greene in "Nashville" Season 5.

Christensen will probably always be best known for playing Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the Star Wars prequels, but he was also recently in the film "First Kill," and he has two more films filming or in post-production -- "Numb, at the Edge of the End" and "Little Italy."

'Avengers 4': Brie Larson Arrives for Filming ... With Clean-Shaven Chris Evans?

$

HFPA & InStyle Annual Celebration Of 2017 Toronto International Film Festival - ArrivalsAt least one Marvel captain has arrived in Atlanta to film "Avengers 4."

This is especially cool since it should mark Brie Larson's first week playing the Carol Danvers of "Captain Marvel." Her standalone movie comes out two months before "Avengers 4," but it hasn't started filming yet.

Atlanta Filming referenced Brie arriving on Sunday night, and they -- and JustJared -- also mentioned Chris Evans, aka Captain America.

JustJared posted a few photos, clearly showing Brie, but it's less clear if that is really Chris Evans with her. Many fans say yes, but others say no.

He is clean-shaven -- which has upset some fans who loved Cap's "Avengers: Infinity War" beard -- but if that's not Evans then it doesn't matter. Honestly, no one seems to care about anything other than whether Evans is now shaven or unshaven.

Anyway, as ScreenRant noted, if Brie Larson is shooting some Captain Marvel scenes this week for "Avengers 4," it may not be too long before we get to see her in costume, beyond concept footage.

"Captain Marvel" is scheduled for release on March 8, 2019, two months before "Avengers 4" opens on May 3, 2019. "Captain Marvel" will reportedly start filming in February 2018.

A 'Justice League' Porn Parody Is (Ahem) Coming Before DC Movie: Here's the Trailer

$

Let's hope "Justice League" is more impressive than the first look at its porn parody.

The trailer for "Justice League XXX: A Porn Parody" is earnest and self-serious, which CinemaBlend called "a sharp departure from the other porn parodies I've seen. The other porn parody trailers, people, you knew what I meant. Something like the Guardians of the Galaxy or Parks & Rec porn parodies have been overly humorous, but this one seems to be taking on the tone of DC movies in general."

The parody trailer showcases DC heroes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and even Green Lantern and Batwoman.

Watch trailer:
Here's the synopsis from Axel Braun:

"The King of Parody is back, with the biggest and most anticipated Adult movie of the year! Legendary director Axel Braun unites the heroes of his DC AxelVerse in more ways than one, in this epic Wicked Comix mega-production. With a stellar cast headlined by the ferociously sexy Romi Rain as Wonder Woman and a phenomenal Charlotte Stokely as Batwoman, 'Justice League XXX: A Porn Parody' will show you why it's time to COME TOGETHER! Available on September 30, 2017."

The Sept. 30 release is not quite two months before the opening of Zack Snyder's "Justice League," starring people you won't find anywhere near this porn parody. That DCEU film opens in theaters November 17.

Linda Hamilton Returning for 'Terminator 2' Sequel, But 'Centerpiece' Will Be 18

$

Sarah Connor is back! Linda Hamilton is returning to her iconic "Terminator" role, James Cameron revealed, although he won't be directing the sequel and an 18-year-old woman will be the "new centerpiece of the new story." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cameron and the new director, Tim Miller ("Deadpool"), are planning a trilogy that can either stand alone or form an overarching story.

THR got the scoop on the new installment being made by Skydance and Paramount. Arnold Schwarzenegger has already been confirmed for what's being treated as a direct sequel to Cameron's "Terminator 2: Judgment Day." (Sounds like the other sequels, like "Salvation" and "Genisys," have been terminated.)

Even with Linda and Ahhhnold, the movie will focus on the next generation. Here's what Cameron announced at a private event celebrating the "Terminator" franchise (via THR):

"We're starting a search for an 18-something woman to be the new centerpiece of the new story. We still fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters, but we'll have Arnold and Linda's characters to anchor it."

Cameron recently made headlines taking shots at "Wonder Woman," making a comparison to Sarah Connor from his own films, inventing a girl-on-girl feud no one wanted. When sharing his news that Hamilton's Connor will be back, Cameron told his audience, "as meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it's going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she's become return."

Cameron added, "There are 50-year old, 60-year old guys out there killing bad guys" -- possibly referencing the "Mission: Impossible" films, or "Fast & Furious," "John Wick," etc. -- "but there isn't an example of that for women." It would be cool if Helen Mirren or Linda Hamilton had their own action franchise, like 50-something Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise, but if this new trilogy is really following a younger generation, does it even qualify?

Linda Hamilton is now 60. She made Sarah Connor iconic with her transformation from the timid passive victim of the first 1984 "Terminator" to the incredibly buff badass of 1991's "T2." It will be good to see her back, and she'd better have as big a role as ever now that Cameron is out there promoting her as a "seasoned warrior."

Damon Lindelof Trophy Photo Reveals HBO's 'Watchmen' Series Has Started

$

"Day One" is already over.

"Watchmen" was adapted into a movie directed by Zack Snyder in 2009. In 2015, Snyder had meetings with HBO to try and adapt the graphic novel into a series. More recently, rumors spread that "The Leftovers" and "Lost" honcho Damon Lindelof would be tackling that "Watchmen" series for HBO.

It looks like that's already happening. Lindlelof got fans talking -- and dream-casting -- with this Instagram post marking "Day One":

Day One.

A post shared by Damon (@damonlindelof) on

What is that statue? Uproxx explained the connection to "Watchmen":

"For those unfamiliar, that's the retirement trophy given to Night Owl, the WWII-era vigilante who wrote a memoir that appeared in the back pages of the original issues of Watchmen. It comes into play as the comic considers how WWII-era social changes would have influenced, and in some cases warped, the four-color square-jawed heroes of the Golden Age."

2015 Summer TCA Tour - Day 3Here's more on the Watchmen from DC Comics:

"Watchmen takes place in an alternate world where the mere presence of American superheroes changed history: The US won the Vietnam War, Nixon is still president, and the cold war is in full effect. It begins with a murder-mystery before unfolding into a planet-altering conspiracy: When a retired hero is killed, his former teammates must investigate. The conspiracy they uncover will entwine their secret traumas and twisted psychologies, ultimately asking where the fine line is drawn between heroes and villains? [...]

Popularly cited as the point where comics came of age, Watchmen's sophisticated take on superheroes has been universally acclaimed for its psychological depth and realism. It's slowly and inevitably become it's own franchise, spawning a movie, video game, and the Before Watchmen prequel comics."

It's not clear what Lindelof's "Day One" indicates. Maybe it was the first day of writing or production meetings. Stay tuned for updates on casting, filming, and premiere dates -- presuming the project stays on track.

Laurence Fishburne, Gina Torres Divorcing After 14 Years of Marriage

38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors GalaLaurence Fishburne and Gina Torres are divorcing after 14 years of marriage.

The "Suits" actress confirmed the news to People.

"With heavy hearts, Laurence and I quietly separated and began the dissolution of our marriage in the early fall of last year," she said in a statement.

"There are no bad guys here. Only a love story with a different ending than either one of us had expected."

Torres, 48, and Fishburne, 56, married in 2002 and share a daughter, Delilah. Fishburne has two children from a previous marriage.

"Happily, however, our family remains intact and we will continue to raise our daughter together with love and joy and awe," Torres said. "As well as raise each other up with respect and love and the continued understanding that we're in this together, if not side by side."

Fishburne is currently appearing on ABC's "black-ish," while Torres is set to star in an upcoming spinoff of "Suits." They have acted on screen together, first in "The Matrix Reloaded," and later on "Hannibal."

'Tomb Raider' Trailer, Featurette Highlight Buff Alicia Vikander

Alicia Vikander has transformed from an Oscar winner into a "Tomb Raider."

Warner Bros. released the first full trailer and a behind-the-scenes featurette for the reboot of its franchise, based on the video game. Vikander plays Lara Croft, who receives a message from her dead father that propels her on a search for a mythical tomb on a secret island.

It's a dangerous journey, through raging seas. Then, on the island, Lara comes across antagonist Father Mathias Vogel (Walton Goggins), who intends to thwart her plans.

The featurette shows the rigorous training Vikander went through to turn into Lara Croft. She seems to do quite a bit of her own stuntwork. As co-star Daniel Wu admiringly says, "Alicia is a beast." We also get a glimpse of the ins and outs of the practical effects. Good to see this thing won't be entirely on green screen.

"Tomb Raider" opens in theaters March 16, 2018.

'Wonder Woman' Honest Trailer Is Actually Pretty Nice

$

The Screen Junkies love to tear into movies in their Honest Trailer series, but for "Wonder Woman," there aren't quite as many flaws to lasso.

The trailer starts with an acknowledgement that most DC Comics Extended Universe movies are dour, grim, and dark — and that "Wonder Woman" isn't, which is why it is the most successful entry yet.

"She's the hero the DCEU doesn't deserve, but sure as hell needs right now," the narrator declares.

While the trailer does give props to the movie's tone, most of the acting and writing, and the direction, it does poke fun at various aspects. There are gentle digs at Diana's complete naivete (yeah, someone who knows a million languages should know what "marriage" is), the rather cartoonish villains, and the idea that after World War I, Diana just sits on her hands until the events of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

All in all, the Honest Trailer reflects what we all know: "Wonder Woman" was a fantastic movie.

Gal Gadot to Team up With Bradley Cooper for 'Deeper': Report

2017 MTV Movie And TV Awards - ArrivalsThere is no shortage of work for Gal Gadot ever since her "Wonder Woman" success.

Gone are the actress's days of "almosts," it appears. Gadot has yet another note-worthy role on her radar: She is in early talks for a part in "Deeper," an upcoming thriller starring Bradley Cooper, Deadline reports.

Written by Max Landis, the film centers on a disgraced astronaut (Cooper) who takes on a mission to bottom of what is believed to be the deepest oceanic trench. Needless to say, it is dangerous -- and all the more so when mysterious forces get involved. At this point, the details of Gadot's would-be part haven't been revealed, but if she does join, she'll be directed by Kornel Mundruczo.

Gadot has other projects on her plate, as well. She appears in the upcoming "Justice League," will star in "Wonder Woman 2," and is likely to pop up in other DC Extended Universe films down the road. Putting in her time as a struggling actress has definitely paid off.

Dwayne Johnson Has No Weakness in New 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' Trailer

A board game gets quite the update in the latest "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" trailer.

Released by Sony Pictures Entertainment on Wednesday, the second full preview shows how Jumanji has evolved since the its 1995 predecessor. Now a video game, it sucks four teenagers into its world, putting them in the bodies of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan. That's a crazy experience for them, especially because their avatars' bodies don't correspond with their usual ones.

In the trailer, we see nerdy gamer Spencer (Alex Wolff) end up as the burly archaeologist and explorer Dr. Smolder Braverstone (Johnson); athlete Anthony (Ser'Darius Blain) lose height to become zoologist Franklin "Moose" Finbar (Hart); cheerleader Bethany (Madison Iseman) turn into male professor Shelley Oberon (Black); and shy Martha (Morgan Turner) become the tough commando Ruby Roundhouse (Gillan). The adjustment is difficult for all of them, but some more than others. Bethany, for example, doesn't like becoming "an overweight, middle-aged man," and Anthony isn't happy to lose his physical prowess, especially when Spencer has no weakness.

It's hilarious to watch them adapt and learn the rules of the game; watch below.

"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" will be unleashed in theaters on Dec. 20.

While we're getting some great scary stuff on Netflix in October, we're also (inexplicably) saying goodbye to one of the greatest horror films of all time, Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining."

The kids will be sad that "Hotel Transylvania 2" and "Curious George: A Halloween Boo Fest" are also going bye-bye.

And say goodbye to "Titanic," which is rotating off the service. (We're sure it'll be back on soon. But how will our hearts go on in the meantime?)

Also leaving, great shows including "30 Rock," "Friday Night Lights," "Bones" and "Family Guy."

Daniel Dae Kim Bonds With New 'Friend' Ed Skrein After 'Hellboy' Recasting

The "Hellboy" casting controversy has a few silver linings, including introducing two new friends -- and revealing the correct pronunciation of Ed Skrein's last name.

So that's something.

As you probably know, Ed Skrein was initially cast as military man Ben Daimio, a Japanese-American character in the "Hellboy" comics. After whitewashing backlash, Skrein stepped down, posting that he was unaware when accepting the role that the Daimio was of mixed Asian heritage. He respected that "representing this character in a culturally accurate way holds significance for people" and he wanted to make room for the role to be "cast appropriately."

Not too long after that, "Hellboy" cast Daniel Dae Kim, a recent alum of "Hawaii Five-0." Kim is Korean-American -- which is not the same as Japanese-American, as many fans jumped in to point out. But after the re-casting, Kim praised Skrein "for championing the notion that Asian characters should be played by Asian or Asian American actors. He could not have addressed the issue more elegantly and I remain indebted to him for his strength of character."

And now it looks like the two dudes have bonded over their shared "Hellboy" experience, with DDK posting this photo with his new friend:

Ed Skrein-Rhymes-With-Wine is no stranger to recastings, losing the role of Daario Naaharis on "Game of Thrones" to Michiel Huisman for what he later said were "political" reasons.

"Hellboy" stars David Harbour in the title role -- check out the first look of him here -- and it'll show up in theaters at some point in 2018.

Olivia Munn: 'It Cost Me Money' to Have Cameo in 'Ocean's Eight'

How much would you pay to hang out with Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Sandra Bullock, and Rihanna? Olivia Munn isn't really complaining to be down several bucks just to show up for a cameo in "Ocean's Eight" ... although she wouldn't mind if the studio paid her back.

Olivia Munn told SiriusXM the "Ocean's Eleven" sequel-spinoff features a scene set at New York City's swanky Met Gala. That's where you should be able to spot Munn's cameo -- and the glamorous look she was never reimbursed for.

"It actually cost me money to be part of 'Ocean's Eight.' [...] I remember, it's a whole scene at the Met Ball and they're like, 'Oh, do your own glam.' So I felt like, you know usually 'Here's the [receipts].' I got the dress, all that, and then you submit the bills for it because, you know, I'm part of your movie. And they're like, 'Oh no, the bills come right back to you.' 'Oh! OK.' I'm going on the press junket with them. As long as I can be hanging out with [the cast]."

She said she's just as excited about the cast as anyone else. The film -- led by Sandra Bullock as Danny Ocean's estranged sister Debbie Ocean -- also stars Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and Awkafina. You can expect more Met cameos Kim Kardashian West, Kendall Jenner, Zayn Malik, model Hailey Baldwin, and Anna Wintour.

By the way, some fans think Olivia Munn still got a great deal, no matter how much she had to shell out for that glam look:

"Ocean's Eight" will be released June 8, 2018.

Listen to Munn's whole "Ocean's Eight" talk in her clip below; she makes some good points about the film, beyond the whole money issue:

Center Theatre Group's 50th Anniversary Celebration - ArrivalsMatthew Broderick is set to play a key role in Fox's upcoming live musical staging of "A Christmas Story," with the Tony winner signing on to narrate the proceedings.

As fans of the beloved holiday classic know, the narrator is an adult version of Ralphie Parker, the 9-year-old protagonist who pines for a Red Ryder BB gun in both the 1983 flick and 2012 musical, on which Fox's adaptation is based. The part should be a natural fit for Broderick, who's both a Tony winner ("How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying") and voice acting vet ("The Lion King").

Broderick takes over narration duties from the late humorist Jean Shepherd, on whose writings the original film was based. He joins the previously-announced Maya Rudolph, who will play Ralphie's mother, Mrs. Parker, in the production.

Recent Oscar and Tony winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul -- the duo responsible for the tunes behind Best Picture nominee "La La Land" and Best Musical winner "Dear Evan Hansen" -- wrote the original score for "A Christmas Story: The Musical," and will be penning several new songs for Fox's version. Additional cast members are set to be announced soon.

"A Christmas Story Live!" debuts on Fox on December 17.

Ron Howard Teases 'Spicey' Scenes With Han Solo Set Photo

'INFERNO' Press Conference In BerlinRon Howard is spicing up our lives.

The Han Solo movie director shared a photo from the film's set on Wednesday, posting it to his Instagram with a simple caption: "Spicey?"

That was enough to excite die-hard fans, who are now eagerly speculating that the film will show Kessel Run, the hyperspace route used by smugglers to move spice from Kessel's mines. In the Star Wars films, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) is known for having traveled the route in a record-breaking 12 (not 14!) parsecs. Therefore, with the new set photo, Howard is possibly hinting that we'll see the legendary feat.

Spicey?

A post shared by RealRonHoward (@realronhoward) on

Alden Ehrenreich plays the younger version of the smuggler in the still-untitled film. The cast also includes Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Paul Bettany, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Whether it features Kessel Run or not, the Han Solo movie is due out in theaters on May 25, 2018.
