Next year, for the first time since 2005, Pixar will not unveil a new movie.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Disney-owned animation house is pushing back "The Good Dinosaur" 18 months, from May 30, 2014 to Nov. 25, 2015. As a result, "Finding Dory," the sequel to "Finding Nemo," will also be delayed to the summer of 2016.

"Nobody ever remembers the fact that you slipped a film, but they will remember a bad film," said Pixar's president, Ed Catmull. "Our conclusion was that we were going to give the film some more time."

"The Good Dinosaur" -- set in a world where an asteroid never hit and dinosaurs and humans co-exist -- likely needs that extra time, especially after director Bob Peterson was removed from the project last month. A replacement hasn't been announced yet.

This is a bump in the road for Pixar, which has been trying to move toward releasing two movies a year. Instead, Disney plans to move up Angelina Jolie's "Maleficent" to the May 30, 2014 date from its original July 2 opening.
