Despite the mixed reactions to the long-awaited fourth season of "Arrested Development," Mitch Hurwitz says he's still hard at work on a movie about the dysfunctional Bluth clan. Hurwitz mentioned the possibility of a movie back in June after Netflix premiered the latest run of "AD" episodes in one fell swoop, and the showrunner dropped hints that things are starting to come together in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

"I can't get into much more detail because I don't want to scare anybody off," Hurwitz teased. "I don't want to be presumptuous about it. I don't own the property outright -- it's a 20th Century Fox property. But everybody seems really into it and really eager to make a movie."

He went on to add, "I'm hoping it happens as soon as possible. ... But I want to be very careful about not putting out false information. I want to get a time and tell everybody when it's happening and not play with people. Right now, I'm trying to do something else for Netflix and a movie project and things. I'm always sort of superstitious about talking about this stuff before it happens. It's the best way to guarantee it doesn't happen."

Given the busy schedules of the show's in-demand stars, it will be interesting to see how this shakes out. After a few years out of the spotlight, Michael Cera got plenty of buzz this summer for his self-lacerating cameo in "This Is The End," as well as his performance as a privileged college kid looking for a trip in "Crystal Fairy." And he's not the only Bluth with a hot career: Tony Hale, minus Buster's hook hand and mommy issues, is stealing scenes (and Emmy noms) as Gary in HBO's "Veep"; Jason Bateman has a bunch of movies lined up, including "Horrible Bosses 2"; Will Arnett is starring in the upcoming CBS sitcom "The Millers"; and Alia Shawkat has a number of cool indies coming her way.

Hurwitz has promised he'll let fans know when the final countdown for an "AD" movie begins. In the meantime, we'll always have the banana stand.
