During an interview on "The Howard Stern Show" earlier this month, Alec Baldwin revealed that he was offered the chance to play a bad guy in a recent Marvel movie, but had to turn it down due to his wife's pregnancy, reports The Huffington Post.
"I have [been offered a role in a superhero movie], but I won't mention which one," Baldwin told Stern. "I don't want to undo somebody because they hired someone else to do it. But they asked me to play a villain in one of these Marvel Comics movies."
Let the speculation begin now! "Iron Man 3" and "The Wolverine" were released this summer, with "Thor: The Dark World" coming this winter, and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," "X-Men: Days of Future Past," and "Guardians of the Galaxy" hitting theaters in the spring and summer of 2014. Are any bad guys jumping out at you for a potential Alec Baldwin-iation? Now that we think about it, he could have been a pretty cool Green Goblin.
Still, Baldwin says he couldn't take on whatever evil mastermind role was thrown his way due to his wife's pregnancy. "I wasn't available," Baldwin explained to Stern. "They wanted me to work a certain time. And because of my wife's pregnancy, I had to turn down two films this summer that I wanted to do." (Baldwin announced that his wife, Hilaria, was pregnant in February.)
Baldwin can currently be seen in Woody Allen's amazing new film "Blue Jasmine."
