Who knew that a simple story about a "bus that couldn't slow down" would have such traction, 20 years later?
The action film, also known as "Die Hard on a Bus," has had its share of detractors but it's also just ridiculously watchable. Try finding a week when it isn't on TNT. When "Speed" opened on June 10, 1994, it earned a respectable $121 million in the U.S. alone, making it the eighth highest-grossing film of the year and it's still the fifth-highest-grosser for star Keanu Reeves. It also did wonders for Sandra Bullock's career: Her path to a Best Actress Oscar began when she got on that ill-fated bus.
Both Reeves and Bullock have been working steadily ever since, even reteaming in 2006's "The Lake House." Reeves wasn't back for the critically reviled 1997 sequel (aka "Die Hard on a Boat"), but Bullock and director Jan de Bont were, as were some of the supporting cast.
What has the rest of the cast been up to since? You'd be hard-pressed to turn on your TV and not see at least one of them.
