The thing about "Snowpiercer" is that it's a certifiable, next level genre masterpiece, a visionary work of science fiction that is on par with classics like "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Blade Runner." To spoil any of that would be a crime and, so far, my record is clean. This is a movie that unfolds before you; you literally watch it blossom. The things that you see in this movie, the moments that are revealed as the characters progress, are both profound and profoundly entertaining. More than once you'll probably cover your mouth and gasp as some new facet of this fascinating universe is uncovered. And quite frankly, this trailer gives away too many of those moments (it also tips its hand to cast members that are better left obscured until they appear on screen).
So, to reiterate: "Snowpiercer" is amazing. It's easily one of the best films of the year, and packs more bang for your buck than most of the Hollywood-certified spectacles that are going to be unleashed, every weekend, until autumn. It's funny, it's scary, it's exciting, it's got wonderful characters and takes place in a vividly imagined, wholly engrossing world. And if you know all this then you probably don't need to watch the trailer. But if you still do, well, it's available below.
"Snowpiercer" comes out June 27th. I plan on seeing it a hundred more times. Remember, the trailer below is NSFW, but it's worth it. Oh, and watch more red band trailers here.
