'Inside Llewyn Davis' Cast at 2013 Cannes Film Festival

Cannes favorite "Inside Llewyn Davis," from the prolific and versatile Coen brothers, has a new trailer, featuring Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons fame covering folk classic "Fare Thee Well."

The song is a fitting soundtrack to the clip, adding both a hopeful and mournful tone to the tale of Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac), a struggling folk musician trying to make it big in Greenwich Village in 1961. We watch him tow his cat to gigs and get chided by John Goodman, who sneers, "I thought you were a musician," when Davis mentions he plays folk songs.

Also starring are Carey Mulligan (married to Mumford in real life) and Justin Timberlake, who play a married folk duo Davis unwittingly comes between. Judging by the cast and Coen pedigree alone, "Llewyn" looks pretty good. But it sounds good, too, and that should help drive home the authenticity of the folk scene setting.

The Film Stage has the soundtrack listing, which is set for release Sept. 17. The movie hits theaters Dec. 6.
