The director of the "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" film series is itching to start on the sequel to "The Adventures of Tintin." But first, he has to finish the final movie "Hobbit" movie, "There and Back Again."
"As soon as I'm free of 'The Hobbit,' I'll be going back into doing 'Tintin,'" Jackson told BadTaste.it (via Comingsoon.net). "It was held up by 'The Hobbit,' but we have every intention of doing another 'Tintin' movie and it's just waiting on me to be done with these 'Hobbit' movies."
The first movie, which grossed over $373 million worldwide, was directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Jackson. The two directors will switch roles for the second film, which will also feature motion-capture animation.
Spielberg has previously said he hoped a follow-up would be ready by Christmas 2015, though that seems highly unlikely considering "There and Back Again" wont' be released until next December.
Tintin and his dog will just have to wait a little longer.
